ELMHURST, Ill. -- Sophomore goalkeeper
Kelli McCarthy had her ninth shutout of the year as the Illinois Wesleyan women's soccer team took a 3-0 College Conference of Illinois and Wesleyan win over Elmhurst College at Langhorst Field on Saturday, Oct. 27.
Illinois Wesleyan improves to 12-4-1 overall and 5-3-0 in CCIW play while the Bluejays fall to 9-5-2 overall and 4-4-0 in CCIW play. Both teams will be in the CCIW postseason tournament with Elmhurst as the No. 4 seed and playing No. 1 Wheaton. The Titans are the No. 3 seed and will play at No. 2 Augustana on Wednesday, Oct. 31, in a semifinal at a time to be determined. Augustana defeated Carthage 1-0 on Saturday night.
The Titans outshot Elmhurst 18-8 overall and had a 9-4 edge in shots on goal. Junior

Flower Edington from a corner kick to score the first goal of the game at 16:26.Â

Ellie Crabtree for her first goal of the year on a rebounded goal off a saved header, giving the Titans a 2-0 lead at 66:41. Junior
Kaitlyn Chen had a breakaway shot at 80:24 on an assist from freshman
Heather Dietrich to cap the scoring.
McCarthy had her ninth shutout of the year, tied for fourth most in an Illinois Wesleyan season, and made four saves against the Bluejays.Â

Illinois Wesleyan will play at Augustana in the CCIW semifinals on Wednesday, Oct. 31, with the time to be determined.
