Illinois Wesleyan Football Wins High-Scoring Contest at Millikin, 49-32

DECATUR, Ill. -- The No. 15-ranked Illinois Wesleyan football team scored less than 100 seconds into the game, rolled out to a 14-0 lead after the first quarter and proceeded to put a 49-32 defeat on Millikin University at Frank M. Lindsay Field in Decatur, Ill., on Saturday, Oct. 27.

The win keeps IWU undefeated in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin with a 7-0 league mark (7-1 overall) while the Big Blue falls to 6-2 overall and 5-2 in conference play.

Junior quarterback Brandon Bauer completed 22 of 34 passes for 305 yards and three touchdowns - one of 35 yards to junior Jack Healy just 99 seconds into the game; one of 8 yards to junior Zach Walsh with 1:11 to play in the first quarter; and another to junior Bryce Dooley of 35 yards as the third quarter came to an end.
Bauer became the school's season record holder for pass completions with 205, eclipsing the mark of 204 by Rob Gallik in 2013. He also improved to fifth in season with 2,436 passing yards, 130 yards from overtaking the record of 2,565 by Tom Monken in 1992.

Healy finished with five catches for a team-high 94 yards and has moved into the top 20 in IWU career records for catches (96, tied for No. 18) and receiving yards (1,445, No. 18). Dean Zigulich had a team-best six grabs for 73 yards and Dooley had five catches for 66 yards.

Senior Morgan Alexander ran for 144 yards and three touchdowns on 31 carries.
This season Alexander has 200 rushing attempts, 47 away from his own record set last year, and 844 yards. The school season record is 1,143 by Maurice Shoemaker-Gilmore in 2016. To see more updated IWU career, season and game records, go here.
