BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- The Illinois Wesleyan women's soccer team, behind the eighth shutout of the year by sophomore
Kelli McCarthy, claimed a 3-0 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin win over Millikin University at Neis Field on Wednesday, Oct. 24.
The Titans, who outshot Millikin 21-3, improve to 11-4-1 overall and 4-3-0 in conference play. The Big Blue is now 6-10-0 and 3-4-0 in the conference.
McCarthy made just one save in collecting her 17th career shutout, making her fifth all-time in IWU women's soccer history.
Sophomore
Peyton Howe put the Titans on the board at 30:31 in the first half on an assist from junior
Flower Edington then Edington gave IWU a 2-0 lead on an unassisted goal, her team-high ninth of the season, at 62:02 in the second half.
Freshman
Erin Peck provided another insurance goal, her first of the season, unassisted at 63:25.
What's Next?
Illinois Wesleyan will travel to Elmhurst College on Saturday, Oct. 27 for a 1 p.m. kickoff. The Bluejays are 9-4-2 overall and 4-3-0 in conference play heading into Saturday's match.
