IWU Women's Soccer Shut Out, 1-0, on Seniors' Day

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- Battling windy conditions on a sunny afternoon, the Illinois Wesleyan women's soccer team lost a 1-0 match to Carroll University on "Seniors' Day" at IWU's Neis Field on Saturday, Oct. 20.

Suffering their second straight shutout, Illinois Wesleyan is now 10-4-1 overall and 3-3-0 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin. The Pioneers are 5-8-4 overall and 1-3-2 in CCIW play.

Getting her second goal of the season at 5:46, Carroll's Kimmy Wiley headed the ball in the net after a corner kick by Kaitlyn Zanon for the only goal of the game.

Illinois Wesleyan, who had a goal waved off by an offsides call in the second half, outshot Carroll 10-8 but the Pioneers had four shots on goal compared to three for IWU. The Titans took 10 corner kicks compared to two for the Pios.

Illinois Wesleyan seniors Jordan Bruscianelli and Rosie Pettenuzzo were honored prior to the game.

What's Next?
Illinois Wesleyan hosts Millikin at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 24, in the last regular season home match of 2018.
