Hickey's Late Goal Gets Titans Past Pioneers, 1-0, in Men's Soccer

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- Junior Patrick Hickey scored a goal at 79:27 to give the Illinois Wesleyan men's soccer team a 1-0 win over Carroll University on "Seniors' Day" Saturday, Oct. 20, at IWU's Neis Field.

The Titans are 9-5-0 overall and 2-4 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin while the Pioneers are now 2-12-2 overall and 1-5-0 in the CCIW.

Hickey scored his fourth goal of the season on a corner kick from senior Ben Nielsen.

Junior Alex Ruckstaetter made two saves as Illinois Wesleyan outshot Carroll, 19-4 with eight shots on goal.

In addition to Nielsen, other seniors honored today were Mason Maier, Andrew Coop, Blake Tempel, Conor Geraghty, Joey Delbert and Chris Johnson.

What's Next?
The Titans play at Millikin University in Decatur, Ill., at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 24.
