KENOSHA, Wis. -- The Illinois Wesleyan women's soccer team improved to a 3-1-0 record in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin with a 2-0 win against Carthage College on Saturday, Oct. 13 at Art Keller Field in Kenosha, Wis.
Illinois Wesleyan improved to 10-2-1 overall while the Lady Reds, coached by former IWU assistant Ian Wilson, fell to 6-5-3 overall and 0-2-2 in CCIW play.Â
The Titans got on the board in the middle of the first half (at 29:07) when junior
Flower Edington shot a long goal, her eighth of the year, with assists to sophomore
Megan O'Neal and junior
Ellie Crabtree.Â
Senior
Rosie Pettenuzzo headed in a goal, also her eighth of the season, at 36:06 on a corner kick by Crabtree to give the Titans a 2-0 lead.
Sophomore
Kelli McCarthy made five saves in earning her seventh clean sheet of the season.
What's Next?
Illinois Wesleyan women's soccer team travels to Rock Island, Ill., for a CCIW match against Augustana College on Wednesday, Oct. 17 with a 7 p.m. kickoff. The Vikings have a 9-2-3 record overall and are 2-1-2 in CCIW play leading into Wednesday's match.
