Alexander, Walsh Power No. 18 Titans Past Elmhurst, 44-28

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- Senior Morgan Alexander rushed for a career-high 218 yards with two touchdowns and junior Zach Walsh was on the receiving end of three TD passes as the No. 18-ranked Illinois Wesleyan Titans rolled past Elmhurst, 44-28, at Tucci Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 13.

The Titans, who built up a 30-7 halftime advantage, improved to 5-1 overall and 5-0 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin while the Bluejays fell to 1-5 overall and 0-5 in the league.

The 578 total offensive yards is the fifth highest in a single game for an Illinois Wesleyan team as the Titans had 282 rushing and 296 passing.

Alexander's previous game high was 142 yards, done against Augustana and North Park in 2017, and the total of 218 is the ninth most in an IWU single game. Go here for single game records.
Alexander's big day gives him 1,714 career rushing yards, good for No. 13 all-time at IWU.

Junior Brandon Bauer threw for 291 yards on 19 of 29 passing with the three scores to Walsh of 1, 30, and 16 yards.

Walsh had 84 receiving yards on six catches and junior Jack Healy had 88 receiving yards on five grabs.

IWU was led defensively by junior linebacker Ryan Swift with nine total tackles and a forced fumble, while Keenan Scott had six tackles. Junior safety Nico Gubenko and senior safety Trevor Staley each had interceptions and junior Trevor Koepke recovered a fumble.
Junior defensive linemen Chance Hilliard and Derrick Frye issued quarterback sacks for the Titans.

What's Next?
Illinois Wesleyan plays another CCIW game next Saturday, traveling to Washington U. in St. Louis for a 6 p.m. game. The Bears are 5-1 overall and 4-1 in the CCIW after a 17-10 win at home against No. 12 ranked Wheaton on Oct. 13.
