BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Illinois Wesleyan men's and women's basketball teams play College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin games against the Elmhurst College Bluejays at the Shirk Center on Saturday, Jan. 6.

THE GAME: The No. 23-ranked Illinois Wesleyan women's basketball team (11-2, 4-0 CCIW) play at 5 p.m. game at Shirk Center against Elmhurst College (7-6, 3-1 CCIW). 

TITAN WOMEN'S HOOP NOTES: As a team, IWU is No. 11 nationally of 450 D-III teams in scoring offense, No. 8 in assist/turnover ratio, and No. 17 in steals ... Senior Molly McGraw has 1,314 career points, ranking No. 7 in Titan records. She is No. 6 all-time in shots made (519) … Rebekah Ehresman has 1,051 career points, which is No. 17 in IWU records. Also in school records, she ranks No. 20 in 3-pointers (82), No. 9 in free throws (269), No. 19 in rebounds (502) and No. 7 in assists (290) ... Ehresman also is No. 4 nationally in assist/turnover ratio (3.22) ... Maddie Merritt's .843 career free throw percentage is the best in an IWU uniform (237 of 281).
 
BEHIND ENEMY LINES: Elmhurst ranks 11th in the national D-III stats in field-goal percentage (.459) and is No. 19 in 3-point percentage (.349) ... Senior guard/forward Mikaela Eppard is No. 11 nationally with 9.0 defensive rebounds per game and No. 23 in field-goal percentage (.576). Eppard is the current CCIW Player of the Week as she averaged a double-double of 21.5 points and 11.5 rebounds for the 1-1 Bluejays over the Holiday break. She finished with 24 points on 10-of-16 shooting, 13 rebounds, two steals, one block and one assist in a 76-57 win over Aurora on Dec. 28. Eppard followed up with 19 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, three blocks and two steals in a four-point loss to Loras on Dec. 30. With 10 rebounds against Loras, Eppard moved into third place on the Bluejays' all-time rebounding list with 887 ... Jasmin Bailey ranks No. 9 in 3-point percentage (.489) and No. 4 in total 3-point field-goals made (42).
 
COACHES: Illinois Wesleyan's Mia Smith is in her 20th season and has an overall record of 375-161 (.699) with a CCIW mark of 199-73 (.731)... In her 11th season at Elmhurst, Tethnie Carrillo has an overall record of 107-120 with a 55-68 mark in the CCIW.
 
THE SERIES: Dating back to 1982, Illinois Wesleyan holds a 52-16 advantage over Elmhurst. Illinois Wesleyan has won four of their last five meetings, which includes a 63-62 victory in the CCIW tournament last season. Elmhurst defeated IWU earlier that season, 86-80.
 
HOME COURT: IWU has a 211-70 record at the Shirk Center and, since 2008, IWU has a home record of 94-26 (.783).

Jeremy Ireland has eight double-doubles this season (second most in D-III) and had 17 rebounds at Olivet ... Jake Rhode had 29 at Benedictine and scored 38 last season vs. Mary Hardin-Baylor. He averaged 19.1 points in seven games last season before a season-ending injury. He is 30th in the country with 5.4 assists per game ... Elmhurst ranks 11th in the country with a +10.0 rebounding margin.
 
COACHES: In his 12th season at IWU, Ron Rose has a 216-106 overall mark (.670) with a CCIW ledger of 101-59. Rose is third in wins at IWU, behind Dennie Bridges (667-319, 1965-01) and Jack Horenberger (264-212, 1945-65) ... In his fifth season at Elmhurst, John Baines has a 73-46 overall mark with a 31-30 conference record. Baines was a member of the 1997 IWU national championship team.
 
THE SERIES: Dating back to 1946, IWU leads the series vs. the Bluejays, 107-24. The Titans have won 17 of the last 25 meetings ... Elmhurst has only won twice at the Shirk Center, the last time on Jan. 17, 2009 (90-72).
