WAUKEHSA, Wis. -- The Illinois Wesleyan women's soccer team defeated Carroll University on Saturday, Sept. 30 by a final score of 1-0. Freshman
Megan O'Neal found the back of the net for the third time in her career to provide the offense for the Titans.
With a win the Titans improved to 8-2 and 1-0 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW). Carroll fell to 8-3 on the season and 1-1 in the CCIW with a loss.
O'Neal's goal came in the ninth minute on an assist from fellow freshman
Cameron Hindel. Hindel now has a team-high 20 points on the season with nine goals and two assists. Freshman

Flower Edington and
Jordan Ellerbrock each recorded shots on goal during the contest.

Kelli McCarthy recorded her fourth shutout of the season making three saves in the process, all of which came in the second half of action. McCarthy's four shutouts lead the CCIW. Carroll keeper Christina O'Block allowed one goal and made five saves.
IWU out-shot the Pioneers 8-5 with a 6-3 advantage in shots on goal.
What's Next?
Illinois Wesleyan will play North Park University on Tuesday, Oct. 3 in Chicago, Ill. North Park currently holds a record of 6-3-1 (0-1-1 CCIW) and will play Wheaton College on Saturday prior to facing off against the Titans.
