Titan Women's Soccer Responds from Deficit to Claim 4-3 Win at DePauw

GREENCASTLE, Ind. -- The Illinois Wesleyan women's soccer team responded with three unanswered second half goals to post a 4-3 come-from-behind win at DePauw University on Wednesday, September 27, in Greencastle, Ind.
 
The nonconference win gives IWU a 7-2-0 record while the Tigers slipped to 1-7-0.
 
Illinois Wesleyan freshman Cameron Hindel opened the scoring with an unassisted goal at 13:38 but DePauw responded with three unanswered goals to assume a 3-1 lead at halftime.
 
Alex Wendt scored on an assist from Alex Berkley at 24:27, Bailey Ehrens tallied on a helper from Mallory Dillon at 34:02 and Berkley added an unassisted goal at 41:11.
 
But the Titans scored all three second half goals, starting with a goal by sophomore Kaitlyn Chen in the 74th minute. Hindel got her second goal of the game and her team-high ninth pf the season at 77:40 and junior Jordan Bruscianelli scored the game-winner, her first goal of the season, at 84:04 on an assist from freshman Anna Eager.
 
Illinois Wesleyan had an 18-5 advantage in shots and fired off nine shots on goal compared to three for DePauw, all of which found the back of the net.

Illinois Wesleyan opens defense of its College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin title with a match at Carroll University in Waukesha, Wis., at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 30.
