CHICAGO -- The Illinois Wesleyan women's volleyball team defeated North Park University in straight sets on Tuesday, September 26 en route to a 3-0 (25-20, 26-24, 25-19) victory in College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) action.
Junior
Tyler Brown recorded her fourth consecutive double-double with team-highs of 11 kills and 12 digs.
With a victory the No. 16-ranked Titans improved their record to 12-4 (2-0 CCIW) and are currently riding a 10-match winning streak, which is tied with a 10-game streak by the 2009 Titans for longest in program history since the turn of the millennium.
Illinois Wesleyan's No. 16 ranking in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) poll is tied for the highest ranking attained in program history, matching the No. 16 ranking earned in the Sept. 20, 2016 edition of the poll.
After winning each of the first two sets the Titans found themselves in a 12-4 hole during set three. A 12-point swing sparked by four consecutive North Park errors gave the Titans a 16-12 lead and the momentum heading into the final points of the match. North Park committed seven errors during the 12-point stretch.
Later in the set IWU had a stretch where they took seven of eight points to muster up a 23-16 lead over the Vikings
Brown was the only member of the team with double-digit kills on Tuesday. Junior
Rachel Burkman finished with seven kills while junior
Maddie Williams added six and senior
Kyleigh Block added five. Sophomore
Kira Jackson led the way with 21 assists and freshman
Caitlin Meyer collected 10 assists.

Jessica McCall tied Brown for the team-high with 12 digs while Block added 11. Both senior
Anne Cummings and freshman
Claire Bergman finished with three total blocks. Bergman finished with two solo blocks to Cummings' one.
The Vikings were led in kills by Lauren Wiltsie who had 12. Wiltsie also led the team in digs with 13.
As a team the Titans hit .184 with 35 kills on 103 total attacks. North Park managed to hit just .083 with 33 kills on 121 total attacks.
What's Next?
Illinois Wesleyan continues play in the CCIW on Wednesday, October 4 as they travel north to face Carroll University in Waukesha, Wis. Carroll is currently 7-10 (0-1 CCIW), but will play four matches prior to facing off against the Titans.
