Doug Ballard scored a pair of goals as the Illinois Wesleyan men's soccer team scored five goals for the second game in a row and won for the third straight time with a 5-2 decision over Webster University at IWU's Neis Field on Tuesday, Sept. 26.
The Titans improved to 5-3-1 overall while the Gorloks are 4-4-1.
Ballard opened the scoring merely 3:43 into the game as he kicked in the only first-half goal from a shot that had rebounded off the keeper.
Webster tied the game at 1-1 with a goal by Dino Music at the 53:01 mark but the Titans scored the next three goals to take a 4-1 lead. Freshman

Blake Tempel, scored at 63:28 to take back the lead, followed by goals from senior
Collen Frost at 70:18 and Ballard hit one from well outside the box for a score one minute later at 71:18.
After a Gorlok tally by Tucker Hively at 74:21, sophomore
Konrad Wasilewski capped off the scoring in the 89th minute to stake the Titans to their final 5-2 advantage.
Illinois Wesleyan outshot Webster, 21-12, and had nine shots on goal compared to five for the Gorloks. IWU freshman keeper
Joe Johnson made three saves.
