Rachel Burkman added 12 more as the Illinois Wesleyan volleyball team swept a three-set match against the University of Chicago on Tuesday, Sept. 12, at the Shirk Center.
Winning by scores of 25-23, 25-23, 25-22, the Titans improved to 4-4 this season while the Maroons slipped to 5-2 and had a four-match winning streak snapped.
Brown had a .485 hitting percentage for the match and Burkman hit .385 as the Titans hit .267 as a team (48 kills, 131 attempts, 13 errors).
Junior
Maddie Williams also had 10 kills and led the team with three blocks while freshman
Caitlin Meyer paced the Titans with 41 assists.
Freshman
Jessica McCall had 17 defensive digs with Brown getting 16 and Burkman 12.
What's Next?
Illinois Wesleyan plays Hope College at 4 p.m. on Friday in the Elmhurst Invitational and then tangles with the defending national champion Calvin at 8 p.m.
