BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Illinois Wesleyan men's lacrosse team scored six first-period goals en route to a 17-4 win over visiting Concordia University (Wis.) at Tucci Stadium on Wednesday, April 19.
The team's fourth straight win puts the Illinois Wesleyan record at 12-3, tying the school record for the most wins in a season set in 2016 (12-5). The Falcons slipped to 9-5 this season. IWU allowed one goal in each quarter and held advantages of 6-1 after one, 8-2 at halftime and 13-3 after the third.
Sophomore
Bailey Marth led the scoring for Illinois Wesleyan with five goals while sophomore
Will Rossi added four. Seniors
Tim Smith,
Evan Mok-Lamme and freshman
Wil Laidlaw each scored two goals and seniors
Jacob Perry and
Michael Julius, who provided a team-high six assists, both scored one goal.
Sophomore
J.C. Grabarek won 18 of 22 faceoffs and had 15 ground balls as the Titans collected 55 ground balls to 30 for the Falcons. As a team, IWU dominated in faceoff wins with 21 to four.
Senior
Steven Laduzinsky made five saves while allowing three goals in 53:34 of work in goal and freshman
Benigno Houser made one save and allowed one tally in the final 6:26.

Illinois Wesleyan has a week away from competition before playing at Beloit College at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 26, and closing out the regular season with a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin game at North Central on Saturday, April 22.
