BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- The Illinois Wesleyan baseball team lost a pair of College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin games to North Park at Horenberger Field on Friday, April 14, falling by 6-2 and 5-2 scores.

The Titans are now 14-10 overall and 7-3 in CCIW play while North Park improved to 10-17 overall and 3-8 in conference games.

In game one, which was delayed for nearly two hours by a lightning and rain delay, the Titans got eight hits and scored single runs in the fourth and ninth innings. Freshman first baseman
Garrett Shea had two hits with a double and an RBI and sophomore shortstop
Jonathan Broadbear also had two hits with an RBI.

Senior righthanded starter
Jonathan Vlk (2-2) had the loss on the mound, going the first six innings and allowing four runs on four hits with four walks and four strikeouts.

In game two, IWU got nine hits and left 12 men stranded in plating two runs. Sophomore leftfielder
John Bosco and senior catcher
Pat Mollo each had two hits and Mollo had a run-scoring single in the first inning and a seventh inning double for IWU's only extra-base hit.

Senior righthander
Sean Coonan (3-1) pitched eight innings and allowed five runs on nine hits with eight strikeouts.

What's Next?
Illinois Wesleyan hosts Elmhurst in a 1 p.m. doubleheader on Saturday, April 15, at Horenberger Field. The Bluejays are also 7-3 in the CCIW and 13-10 overall.
