BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- Illinois Wesleyan sophomore
Grainne Kelly equaled her career-high with five goals in a game to help the Titans to a 15-3 win over Adrian College at Tucci Stadium on Saturday, March 25.
The Titans won for the second straight game and are 5-4 overall while the Bulldogs slip to 0-5.
In addition to Kelly, sophomore
Dani Engelbreit had three goals with junior
Abby Kushina and sophomore
Sara Dust each scoring two. Engelbreit and
Sam Bidlack also had three assists apiece and Kushina had two helpers.
Freshman
Amanda Best, junior
Mariah Smith and sophomore
Claudia Richman each provided one goal in the IWU win.
Junior
Claire Quist made 10 saves in 60 minutes as Adrian fired off shots on goal compared to 21 for IWU. The Titans held a 26-21 advantage in shots tried and IWU won 11 draw controls to nine for the Bulldogs.
What's Next?
Illinois Wesleyan returns to the Tucci Stadum turf for a 4 p.m. game on Wednesday, March 29 against Aurora University. The Spartans are 4-4 prior to a game on Sunday (March 26) at Hamline University in St. Paul, Minn.
