BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- The Illinois Wesleyan men's basketball team held off a stubborn Millikin squad, outscoring the Big Blue 31-21 over the final 16:30 to post a 73-64 win at the Shirk Center on Wednesday, Jan. 4.
The Titans are 10-3 overall and improved to 2-2 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin while Millikin is 2-10 overall and 0-3 in the league.
In a game that had 10 lead changes and three tie scores, IWU trailed, 43-42, with 16:32 to play in the game before going on an 8-0 run to claim a 50-43 lead at the 12:42 mark. Millikin closed to within three at 57-54 with 7:46 left before IWU had a 10-2 spree that left the home team ahead, 67-56 with 3:14 to go.

Andy Stempel paced IWU with 18 points while junior
Brady Rose contributed 15 and senior
Trevor Seibring added 12. Junior
Jaylen Beasley, Rose and Seibring each collected team-high five rebounds as the Titans got 36 boards to Millikin's 33.
Seibring handed out five assists and Rose had four helpers.
Zach Fisher came off the bench to score 11 to lead Millikin and Nathan Lovekamp scored 10, all in the first half.
