BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Sophomore
Tyler Brown led all players with 19 kills on Wednesday night (Sept. 7) as the No. 21-ranked Illinois Wesleyan volleyball team defeated No. 10-ranked Washington University in St. Louis 3-1 (25-22, 22-25, 26-24, 25-11).
With the victory, the Titans push their win-streak to three games, improving to 3-1 overall while WashU falls to 4-2 on the season. Tonight's win snapped a 12-match winning streak for Washington U. against Illinois Wesleyan and the Bears still hold a 20-5 advantage in the series dating back to 1987.
After taking the first set by a score of 25-22, Illinois Wesleyan dropped the second by the same score. Things heated up in the third set as the Titans mounted an incredible comeback from trailing 21-12 to win 26-24. It was a collective effort offensively in the third set with six different Titans contibuting to the comeback effort. Illinois Wesleyan also took advantage of crucial mistakes by the Bears who comitted four errors during the Titans 14-3 run. IWU ran away with set four by a score of 25-11.

Kyleigh Block added 13 kills and 19 digs of her own. Senior
Alexa Cornish led the team with 20 digs while senior
Colleen Rynne added 23 assists. Freshman
Kira Jackson continues to play an integral role in the Titans attack, contributing 18 assists and two service aces.
