BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- Sophomore
Mason Maier provided a goal and two assists to lead the Illinois Wesleyan men's soccer team to a 3-1 win over Coe College on Sunday, Sept. 18, at IWU's Neis Field.
The win ended a three-game IWU losing streak and puts the Titans' record at 3-3-1 while the Kohawks remain winless at 0-6-0 this season.
Maier had the first goal of the game and the only first half tally at the 30:06 mark on an assist from freshman
Patrick Hickey.
Sophomore
Joey Delbert got his third goal of the season at the 50:00 mark on a tip in from a kick by Maier. Senior
Dino Karas ended the IWU scoring in the 71st minute, scoring off a loose ball in the box.
Coe's only goal was scored by Ali Al-Yassery at the 82:28 mark on an assist from Bobby Charlton.
Illinois Wesleyan outshot Coe, 10-3 and freshman
Alex Ruckstaetter made one save in 72:33 of playing time.
What's Next?
The Titans play next at Washington U. in St. Louis on Friday, Sept. 23. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
