ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Illinois Wesleyan men's soccer team earned an opening-season shutout win over Fontbonne, 3-0, at Centene Stadium in St. Louis on Thursday, Sept. 1.
The Titans got a penalty kick goal from freshman
Justin Yaeger at 32:42 to open the scoring and IWU went up 2-0 at 39:02 on a goal by sophomore

Ryan Kaplan added the final tally on a free kick from 20 yards out at the 77:19 mark.

Eddie Sanchez went the first 45 minutes in goal while freshman
Alex Ruckstaetter went the final 45 and each goalie made two saves. Fontbonne had 13 total shots compared to 11 for the Titans.

Illinois Wesleyan is at home for a 5 p.m. match on Sunday, Sept. 4 against Lakeland University and will host Monmouth at 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 5 at Neis Field.
