ELMHURST, Ill. -- A goal by sophomore
James Maibuecher just 16 seconds into overtime gave the Illinois Wesleyan men's lacrosse team an 11-10 win over Elmhurst College at Langhorst Field in Elmhurst, Ill., on Saturday, April 16.
The win gives IWU a 9-3 overall record and a 1-0 mark in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin while the Bluejays are 4-8 overall and 0-1 in the league.
For Maibuecher, it was his third goal of the game, a total equalled by junior

Will Rossi each provided one goal.
Illinois Wesleyan launched 48 shots in the game compared to 32 for the Bluejays and the Titans collected 40 ground balls to 33 for Elmhurst.

Steven Laduzinsky made six saves in the 60 minute -16 second game and Grabarek was 9-of-10 in faceoff wins as IWU won 16-of-25 faceoffs compared to 9-of-25 for Elmhurst.
What's Next?
CCIW play continues on Wednesday, April 20, with a 3 p.m. game against the University of Dubuque at IWU's Tucci Stadium. The Spartans come into the match with a 1-9 overall record and a 0-2 mark in the CCIW.
