ST MARY'S CITY, Md. -- The Illinois Wesleyan men's lacrosse team fell behind 4-0 in the opening minutes and dropped a 24-14 road decision to St. Mary's College of Maryland at Seahawk Stadium on Wednesday, March 16.
IWU is now 4-2 overall on the season and 1-1 on their spring break trip while St. Mary's 2-4 having dropped their previous three games prior to today.
The Seahawks scored the first four goals of the game and took an 8-4 lead after the first quarter. Illinois Wesleyan would fall behind by a score of 12-4 with 9:46 remaining in the first half before scoring three of the final four goals of the period to trail by a score of 13-7 at halftime. IWU would trail by as many as 11 goals in the game at 20-9 and again at 21-11 before keeping pace with the Seahawks in the fourth quarter with each team scoring four times.
The Titans were led by five goals from junior
Evan Mok-Lamme while
Tim Smith and
Michael Julius would each score twice. Julius, along with
Colin Daly and
Nick Winter would all record two assists with Daly and Winter each netting one goal.
Goalkeeper
Steven Laduzinsky took the loss to fall to 4-2 overall, playing all 60 minutes making 12 saves.
