DANVILLE, Ky. -- A six-goal fourth quarter push allowed the Illinois Wesleyan men's lacrosse team to take a 16-8 victory over Centre College at Farris Stadium in Danville, Ky., on Monday, March 14. 
IWU is now 4-1 overall and has won four straight games while the Colonels fell to 4-3 overall this season. 
The Titans jumped out to a 6-3 lead and led 6-5 at the end of the first quarter before Centre scored the first two goals of the second quarter to take a 7-6 lead with 48 seconds left before intermission.
Illinois Wesleyan found an equalizer right before halftime before holding the Colonels scoreless in the third quarter and scoring three goals of their own to take a 9-7 lead with 15 minutes left to play. After five IWU goals to put the game out of reach, Centre finally scored their only goal of the second half with only 23 seconds left in the game as the Titans added one more goal for good measure. 
Junior 
Michael Julius paced the Titans with six goals on 13 shots while 
Tim Smith scored three goals and had one assist. 
Evan Mok-Lamme, 
Nick Winter, and 
James Maibuecher each netted two goals for the Titan with the other IWU goal coming from 
Jacob Perry. 
Goalie 
Steven Laduzinsky improved to 4-1 in net this season, playing all 60 minutes and making eight saves. 
Illinois Wesleyan held commanding leads in both ground balls (40-23) and faceoffs (20-8) while also outshooting Centre 57-48. The Titans were guilty of 25 turnovers compared to 23 for the Colonels but were successful on 24 of 28 clear attempts. 
What's Next?After a day off for travel purposes, Illinois Wesleyan will look to run their record to 5-1 with a 3 p.m. ET time game at St. Mary's College of Maryland. Live video and stats will be available for the game against the Seahawks, who are 1-4 overall this season.
