JACKSONVILLE, Ill. -- The first five hitters in the Illinois Wesleyan lineup accounted for a total of 12 hits and all seven runs as the Titans won a 7-5 decision over Blackburn College on Saturday, March 12, at Lenz Field in Jacksonville, Ill.
The Titans have won four straight and are now 4-1 while the Beavers slipped to 0-10.
Sophomore second baseman
Gino Cavalieri and senior first baseman
Matthew Mardis each had three hits while junior catcher
Pat Mollo, junior third baseman
Jarrod Juskiewicz and senior centerfielder
Adam Glogovsky each had two hits. Juskiewicz had a two-run home run in the fourth as the Titans built up a 6-0 lead after four innings.
Sophomore lefthander
Mitch Goll (1-0) was the winning pitcher, working the first four innings and allowing three hits while striking out three. Trailing 7-2, the Beavers scored three runs in the last of the ninth and had a runner on second and the tying run at the plate. Sophomore lefty
