MEN'S BASKETBALL
THE GAME: After winning their first five games of the season, the Titans look to snap a two-game losing streak against the Bluejays with a 4 p.m. game on Saturday, Dec. 10 in Elmhurst, Ill. … The Titans were ranked No. 16 in the latest D3hoops.com poll for the second straight week … IWU was picked third and the Bluejays were picked No. 6 in the preseason CCIW coaches' poll.

THE SERIES: IWU has a 97-17 lead in the series against Elmhurst dating back to 1946-47 … Illinois Wesleyan has won 10 of the last 12 in the series since the 2002-03 season.

CCIW START: A check of
the year-by-year records shows that being 0-2 in conference play is a rarity in Illinois Wesleyan men's basketball history … The last time Illinois Wesleyan opened with two losses in CCIW play was in 2008-09 (lost to Wheaton and North Central under
Ron Rose) and before that it was 1957-58 (lost to Wheaton and Elmhurst under coach Jack Horenberger) … Since the league started in 1946-47, IWU has never been 0-3 in CCIW play ... IWU teams have lost two games or fewer in 25 of the 70 previous conference seasons (35.7 percent).
SCOUTING THE BLUEJAYS: Elmhurst is 3-4 overall and has won three of their last four games, including a 69-56 win at Carroll on Wednesday night … The Bluejays, who started the season with three losses, also have wins over Concordia Chicago and Alma … They have lost to Loras, Greenville and Westminster with a CCIW home loss to Wheaton (82-69) ... The Bluejays are outscoring opponents 87.3-86.3 per game and have a commanding +11.3 rebound margin (45.4-34.1) ... Senior Caleb Mowry is scoring 18.6 and snaring 8.7 rebounds per game to pace Elmhurst ... Three other players - Ryan Patton, Derek Dotlich and Jalen Loving - are all averaging 11 points per game ... Jake Rhode averaged 21.5 in the first two games but has been out with an injury since then ... Elmhurst is coached by 1998 IWU graduate John Baines, who was a member of the Titans' 1997 national NCAA Division III championship team. He has a 59-30 record in his fourth year at Elmhurst.

THE SERIES: Illinois Wesleyan holds an all-time record of 50-15 against the Bluejays, including both match-ups last season ... IWU led the series 17-12 (after the 1998-99 season) so has won 33 of the 36 meetings since then ... Two of those IWU losses were in the 2014-15 season.

THE TITANS:Â IWU is off to a 4-3 start after defeating North Central College by a final score of 118-113 to open conference play. Against the Cardinals, junior
Molly McGraw posted 37 points with six rebounds and four assists. McGraw leads the Titans in scoring with 18.3 points per game on 45.2 percent shooting. Junior
Rebekah Ehresman is the team's leading rebounder and assister with 7.7 boards and 3.7 assists per game. Ehresman also ranks second on the team in scoring with 10.9 points per game … Senior

SCOUTING THE BLUEJAYS: Elmhurst enters Saturday's action with a record of 6-2. The Bluejays have lost two conference matches to date, being bested by Wheaton and Augustana … Elmhurst is led in scoring by Mikaela Eppard at 17.3 points per game on 58.2 percent shooting. Eppard also leads the team in rebounding with 8.8 rebounds per game. Kaela Jones is the only other Bluejay averaging double digit points this season with 10.8 on 44.9 percent shooting. Jones and Kaila Summerlin are threats from beyond the arc where they shoot 40.6 percent and 50 percent respectively.
