BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Illinois Wesleyan women's soccer team advanced via penalty kicks in a shootout in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin postseason tournament at Neis Field on Thursday, Nov. 3.
Illinois Wesleyan will now play at No. 1 seed Wheaton (12-7-0 overall) at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5. The winner will receive the league's automatic berth into the NCAA Division III postseason tournament.
The Titans won the shootout 4-3 as senior

Rachel Westerkamp and freshman
Shannon Gatehouse all found the back of the net to give IWU the edge.
The teams tied 1-1 after 110 minutes of play with two overtimes. Illinois Wesleyan is 11-5-3 overall and Carroll University is 14-4-2.
Tomko had the game's only first half goal, her seventh of the season, at 28:58 on an assist from senior
Alison Seger.
A header by Carroll's Rachel Van Sluys with an assist by Delaney Pruitt tied the match at 1-1 at the 57:35 mark. It was Van Sluys's eighth goal of the season.
IWU outshot Carroll 19-15 in the match and had a 9-7 edge in shots on goal.
NOTES: Wheaton was a 4-0 winner over North Central in the other tournament semifinal on Wednesday night … Tournament No. 2 seed IWU finished 7-1 in the CCIW and shared the league title with Wheaton while Carroll was the No. 3 seed with a 5-2-1 CCIW record … The NCAA Division III women's soccer selection show will be on Nov. 7 at 12:30 p.m. Central time on NCAA.com.
