WHEATON, Ill.-- The Illinois Wesleyan women's soccer team will be in the NCAA postseason tournament for the fourth straight year after defeating Wheaton 2-1 in the final of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin postseason tournament on Saturday, Nov. 5 at Wheaton's Joe Bean Stadium.
The Titans are 12-5-3 overall while the Thunder is now 12-8-0. IWU will find out who and where they will play in the NCAA tourney when the field is announced in the selection show at 12:30 p.m. (Central) on Monday, Nov. 7 on
NCAA.com.
Freshman
Jordan Ellerbrock scored the game-winning goal at 64:02 after a cross from freshman
Flower Edington. It was Ellerbrock's third goal of the year.
IWU got the first goal of the match at 27:26 on senior
Amanda Kaiser's second goal of the season, scoring with an assist to senior
Skyler Tomko.
Wheaton tied the game shortly after the second half started when Morgan Whitman had a header at 48:45, her sixth goal of the year, with an assist to Anna Saunders.
Shots for each team were even at 12-12 and IWU had six shots on goal compared to just the one for Wheaton.
NCAA HISTORY: This will be the ninth overall NCAA Division III tournament appearance for Illinois Wesleyan University ... The Titans have an overall record of 9-6-3 in eight previous NCAA Division III tournaments and advanced to the semifinal round in 2014 before falling to eventual Division III champion Lynchburg ...

CCIW HISTORY: Illinois Wesleyan and Wheaton have combined to claim 14 of the 15 CCIW Tournament titles, with Augustana in 2009 the only other tournament champion ...
