Box Score KENOSHA, Wis. – The Illinois Wesleyan men's soccer team was knocked out of the CCIW conference tournament on Wednesday, Oct. 2 losing by a final score of 3-1. Freshman
Patrick Hickey scored the lone goal of the evening for the Titans off a free kick from sophomore
Ben Nielsen.
With the loss Illinois Wesleyan concludes their season with a record of 9-8-1. Carthage advances to the conference championship game with a record of 17-3.
Carthage jumped on the Titans early scoring three goals in the first period. All goals were scored within the first 15 minutes of action to put the match out of reach.
Hickey scored in the 50th minute off an assist from Nielsen via a free kick. The second half goal marked Hickey's third goal of the season.
The Titans outshot the Red Men 13-to-8 overall and 8-to-6 on shots on goal throughout the contest despite coming away with a loss.
