POSTSEASON POSSIBILITIES: There is an outside possibility that Illinois Wesleyan could be selected as one of six nationwide at-large choices for the NCAA playoffs, but a loss by Mount Union, its first in 112 regular season games, muddies the postseason selection waters. The Purple Raiders are 9-1 after a 31-28 loss to John Carroll Saturday ... Wisconsin-Oshkosh (9-1) made its final statement for an at-large bid, defeating Wisconsin-Eau Claire 48-13 while No. 8-ranked St. John's remained on track for an at-large bid with a 31-7 win at Concordia-Moorhead and No. 10-ranked Wheaton finished 9-1 overall with a 42-10 win over Carroll ... Olivet (9-1), Wittenberg (9-1), Rose-Hulman (8-2) and Franklin (8-1), all ranked ahead of IWU in the latest NCAA Regional rankings, were winners on Saturday with the lone team in the nine ahead of IWU, Wabash (8-2), losing to DePauw (also 8-2), 37-34, on a score with 38 seconds left.
