BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- Senior
Maurice Shoemaker-Gilmore rushed for 212 yards, tied for 10th most in an Illinois Wesleyan game, as the Titans defeated Augustana, 42-6, at Tucci Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 8.
The Titans improved to 3-2 overall and 2-2 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin while the Vikings slipped to 2-4 overall and 1-3 in conference play.
Shoemaker-Gilmore had 212 rushing yards with one touchdown of 58 yards on 26 carries and is tied at No. 10 with Maury Parker, who had 212 against Elmhurst on Nov. 2, 1991. The game record-holder is Chris Humbles with 273 against North Park on Nov. 9, 1991.
Shoemaker-Gilmore also had 28 receiving yards with two touchdowns in his two catches, one of 22 yards thrown by sophomore wide receiver

Brandon Bauer completed 10 of 20 passes for 116 yards and three TDs, hitting Shoemaker-Gilmore on a 6-yarder at 11:08 to play in the first, with senior
Austin Wagner with 10:12 before halftime and connecting with senior

Brinton Wilkey made two interceptions for 38 return yards and sophomore
Trevor Staley made an interception return for a 38-yard touchdown with 12:39 to play in the third period.
The Titans got a team-high eight tackles from senior linebacker
Sean Garvey, while senior linebacker
Luke Roth, senior defensive end
Kyle Venhuizen and Staley each had five total tackles. Venhuizen had a quarterback sack of -7 yards and freshman lineman
Chance Hilliard had a sack of -2 yards.

The Titans will play Carroll University in a CCIW game next Saturday, Oct. 15, at 1 p.m. in Waukesha, Wis. ... Carroll was part of the CCIW from 1955 to 1992 ... IWU has a 22-17 lead in the series against the Pioneers dating back to 1935.
