Women's Soccer Escapes Rose-Hulman with 1-0 2-OT Win

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - With time winding down in the second overtime period, senior Jenna Baker blasted her first goal of the season to give the No. 9-ranked Illinois Wesleyan women's soccer team a 1-0 road win over Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on Sunday, Sept. 27.

IWU improved to 9-1-0 with the win while the Fightin' Engineers fell to 3-5-0.

The Titans dominated the match throughout, but were unable to find the back of the net in regulation. Following 90 minutes of regulation and a first 10-minute overtime period, IWU broke through with Baker's goal coming off an assist from senior Sydney Fox in the 105th minute (104:41) to send the Titans home victorious.

Illinois Wesleyan outshot Rose-Hulman 27-2 and held a 12-1 advantage in corner kicks. Freshman Katie Denney went the distance between the pipes for the Titans, making two saves.
