BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The No. 9-ranked Illinois Wesleyan women's soccer team saw three first half goals come from a trio of seniors to put away No. 25-ranked Augustana College 3-1 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin opener for both team at Neis Field on Saturday, Oct. 3.

It is the second consecutive season that the Titans opened up CCIW play with a victory over the Vikings, improving to 10-1 overall in the 3rd annual "Play for the Cure" game while Augustana fell to 8-3 overall.

Sydney Fox scored her team leading ninth goal of the season off of a
Mary Kate Schmidt assist to put IWU up a mere 12 minutes (11:42) into the game. The Titans scored again when
Tess Bottorff beat the keeper off of a Fox cross to put the Titans up 2-0 at the 25:44 mark.

Following a Viking yellow card, junior
Alison Seger would net her second goal of the 2015 campaign to give Illinois Wesleyan a 3-0 lead in the 35th minute (34:47) to put the Titans in control and send them on their way to their third straight victory.
Augustana scored their only goal in the closing minutes of the game (88:44).

Katie Denney went all 90 minutes in goal, making one save while allowing one goal.

What's Next?IWU will close out non-conference play at home on Wednesday, October 7 by playing host to the DePauw Tigers at 7 p.m. in the first of two home games during IWU's Homecoming week.
