BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- The Illinois Wesleyan men's soccer team lost a 1-0 battle with the No. 18 Washington U. Bears at IWU's Neis Field on Friday, Sept. 25.

Illinois Wesleyan is 3-4-1 this season while WashU has a six-game unbeaten streak and is 5-1-2.

Washington U. senior Jack West scored the match's only tally at the 11:07 mark with an assist coming from junior Corey Meehan. It was West's fourth goal of the season.

WashU had 20 total shots with 12 going on goal and Illinois Wesleyan had 11 total shots and five shots on goal.
Illinois Wesleyan starting keeper
Erick Eklin had six saves and
Craig Kym, who worked the second half, made five saves.
For the Bears, starting keeper Daniel Geanon made three saves and second half goalie Nick Tannenbaum made two.
What's Next?Illinois Wesleyan has a road match on Sunday, Sept. 27 at 3:30 p.m. Eastern against Rose-Hulman Institute in Terre Haute, Ind. The Fightin' Engineers are 5-2-1 this fall with a tie against national powerhouse Wheaton College and an overtime win vs. previously unbeaten DePauw University.
