BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- Illinois Wesleyan got 12 hits in an 11-3 nonconference baseball win over Rockford at Horenberger Field on Tuesday, April 28.
The Titans are 23-11 overall and the Regents fell to 18-20.
Freshman designated hitter
Mike Plecki had three hits, including a two-run triple, with two runs scored to pace the IWU offense. Sophomore catcher
Pat Mollo had two hits and two RBI and
Adam Glogovsky had a pair of hits, including a double. Senior centerfielder
Tim Coonan and a hit and knocked in two runs as the Titans scored three times in the third and four times in the sixth to put the game out of reach.
In a game where head coach
Dennis Martel had planned to give several pitchers work, sophomore
Sean Coonan was the first of five IWU hurlers and got the win, working four scoreless innings, allowing two hits while striking out one and walking three.
