Men's Lacrosse Wraps Up Regular Season With Shutout

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan men's lacrosse team wrapped up their 2015 regular season with a 22-0 shutout over the University of Dallas at Tucci Stadium on Sunday, April 26. 

The Titans are now 11-6 while Dallas closes out the 2015 campaign with a 5-12 record. 

IWU jumped out to an early lead with five goals coming in the first quarter before adding three in the second to lead 8-0 at haltime. The Titans would then explode for 11 third-quarter goals before netting three more in the final frame for the 22-0 victory as Illinois Wesleyan ended a two-game skid. 

Ten different Titans got in the scoring frame in the contest, led by sophomore Colin Daly with five. Evan Mok-Lamme had four goals while sophomore Tim Smith netted three to add to his team-leading 46 this season. Nick Winter, Jacob Perry and Michael Julius all had two goals each and Andy Justl, Cody Gountounas and Reagan Penner each scored their first goal of the season. Freshman James Maibuecher scored the other Titan goal. 

Sophomore Jordan Staley improved to 2-0 between the pipes this season, playing all 60 minutes in net while making three saves. 

Illinois Wesleyan outshot Dallas 53-9 and held a 17-10 advantage in face-offs. Dallas was guilty of 29 turnovers compared to 13 for the Titans as IWU was successful on all 13 clear attempts. 

CCIW TOURNAMENT: Illinois Wesleyan has earned the No. 3 seed in the inaugural College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin men's lacrosse tournament. The Titans will face No. 2 seed Augustana in Rock Island at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29 ... The two teams met last Wednesday at Tucci Stadium with the Vikings coming away with a 11-7 victory.
