BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- The Illinois Wesleyan baseball team ran into an offensive-minded Augustana club at Horenberger Field on Monday, April 20, suffering an 18-3 setback while allowing 18 hits.
The Titans, who got 13 hits and stranded 11 baserunners, fell to 20-9 overall and 10-5 in College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin play while the Vikings improved to 22-10 overall and 8-7 in the conference.

Pat Mollo's two-run home run in the first inning was a bright spot for Illinois Wesleyan and tied the game at 2-2. The Titans went ahead 3-2 in the second inning when they scored a run as Mollo hit a sacrifice fly to plate junior leftfielder

Derek Idstein had three hits for the Titans, including a double, and Glogovsky had three singles. Freshman third baseman
Gino Cavalieri had a pair of singles.
Augustana scored nine runs in the sixth inning and added six more in the ninth. Illinois Wesleyan used a total of seven pitchers as sophomore starter
Kyle Snedeker (4-1) took the loss, working 5 1/3 innings and allowing eight hits and only one earned run of the seven scored against him.

Horenberger-Bass Classic resumes as Illinois Wesleyan plays at Division I Illinois State (18-18) on Tuesday, April 21, in a 6 p.m. game at ISU's Duffy Bass Field. The game honors the former baseball coaches at each institution, Duffy Bass and Jack Horenberger ... There is no admission charge ... Historicaly, the contest is the 156th meeting of the Bloomington-Normal rivals since 1890 and ISU has an 85-70 lead in the series.
