Box Score 2 WHITEWATER, Wis. -- The No. 6-ranked Illinois Wesleyan softball team posted a 10-5 win in the opener before losing 5-3 in the nightcap at No. 14-ranked Wis.-Whitewater on Monday, March 30.
The Titans are 17-3 and the Warhawks are 11-3 after the pair of games. The second game was shortened to five innings due to darkness.
In the first game and trailing 2-0, the Titans put up four runs in the second, four more in the third and added single runs in the fifth and seventh.

Hannah Bowen had three hits with two doubles and three runs batted in and junior shortstop
Sam Gudat had two hits with three runs batted in coming on a bases-loaded third inning double. Freshman designated hitter
Amanda Lack smacked a solo homer in the seventh and freshman rightfielder
Maggie Graham had a pair of hits.

Mackenzie Marquis (4-0) was the winning pitcher in relief of junior starter
Jenna Noland. Marquis, who won for the third straight game, extended her hitless inning streak to 11 2/3 as she went the final 4 2/3 scoreless, hitless innings and struck out one while walking five. Noland allowed five runs on five hits in 2 1/3 innings.

In game two the Warhawks jumped on senior starter
Chloe Montgomery (11-1) for five first inning runs, four coming on a grand slam homer by catcher Paige Evangelista, to deal Montgomery her first college pitching loss after 19 career wins. Montgomery worked four innings and struck out seven while walking four with six hits.

Laura Bonds had two singles with an RBI in the first inning and two RBI in the second.
What's Next?The Titans will play at home on Wednesday, April 1, hosting Monmouth College for a 4 p.m. doubleheader. Postponed from last weekend, it is "White-Out" day to raise awareness for lung cancer and to assist a former teammate of two members of the Titan coaching staff. The color for lung cancer awareness is white so all fans are encouraged to wear white shirts to demonstrate their support at the doubleheader vs. Monmouth.
