Washington U. Spring Invitational Results, FinalMADISON, Ill. -- The Illinois Wesleyan women's golf team finished in 10th place in the Fourth Annual Washington University Spring Invitational on Sunday, March 29, at Gateway National Golf Links in Madison, Ill.
The Titans (333-345) had a final day score of 345 for a two-day total of 678 in the 15-team field that features nine top-25 ranked teams. The champion for the fourth straight year was NAIA No. 7-ranked Williams Woods University (297-308) with a total of 605 which tied a tournament record. The No. 7 Wittenberg University (319-311) team and No. 3-ranked Washington U. (307-323) women's team finished tied for second with 630 totals, but Wittenberg was awarded the second-place trophy based on tiebreaker. No. 11-ranked Carthage College (315-325) was fourth with 640 and No. 18 Huntingdon College (319-326) rounded out the top five with 645.

Michelle Schoch (81-86) finished in a tie for 32nd with her team-low score of 167 on the par 72, 5865-yard course. Freshman
Emma Klimala (83-86) tied for 36th with her total of 169.
Amy Seter (85-87) tied for 43rd at 172, while senior
Michelle Burke (87-86) and junior
Karson Taphorn tied for 47th with scores of 173.
William Woods freshman Katie Warren captured medalist honors with a new tournament record of 146, shooting a 75 Sunday after tying a tournament record with a one-under 71 Saturday.
What's Next?The next women's golf action will be on April 11-12 when IWU hosts its own Spring Fling Tournament at Normal's Ironwood Golf Course.
