BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Eleven Illinois Wesleyan men's soccer seniors took the field at home for the final time in their career, falling to Elmhurst 2-0 at Neis Field on Saturday, Oct. 24.
IWU fell to 5-9-2 overall and 1-5 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin while the visiting Bluejays are now 7-8-1 and 3-2 in the CCIW.
Despite holding a 15-12 advantage in shots and 6-5 advantage in shots on goal, IWU found itself in an early hole following a penalty kick goal by the Bluejays just 12 minutes (11:12) into the game. Elmhurst would add their second goal of the game nine minutes later (20:44) to go up 2-0, which is all that the Bluejays would need en route to posting a shutout of the Titans.
