Drake Leary each netted a second half goal, but the Illinois Wesleyan men's soccer team fell at No. 24-ranked North Park 6-2 at the Holmgren Athletic Complex in Chicago on Wednesday, Oct. 14.
IWU dropped to 5-6-2 overall and 1-2 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin while the Vikings picked up their 10th win of the year to improve to 10-3-0 overall and 2-1 in the CCIW.
North Park jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 19th minute (18:42) on a penalty kick by Pedram Tahmi-Masoleh. Illinois Wesleyan knotted the game at one just four minutes into the second half when Karas scored his third goal of the year by putting one into the back of the net from 25 yards out at the top right side of the box. The Vikings added three second half goals in a 20-minute span before Leary scored off a
Blake Beehler assist to make the score 4-2 in the 70th minute (69:31).
The Vikings responded with two more goals, including one with 16 seconds left.
Senior
Craig Kym played all 90 minutes in net for the Titans, making eight saves.
