Box Score BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Illinois Wesleyan men's basketball team was sent into an extra period but came out with a 79-70 win over Wheaton in a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin thriller at the Shirk Center on Wednesday, Jan. 28.

The Titans, who outscored the Thunder 15-6 in the extra period, improved to 14-5 overall and 6-2 in the CCIW while the Thunder is now 9-10 overall and 2-6 in the league.
IWU led 38-33 at halftime and built the lead to seven at 44-37 with 15:35 to play before the Thunder scored 10 straight points to claim a 47-44 lead with 12:31 to play. The game was tied nine times and the lead changed hands nine times.
Senior guard
Dylan Overstreet made three free throws in the final 1:49 to erase a 64-61 Wheaton lead and sent the game into an overtime when neither team scored in the final minute of regulation.
A basket by sophomore
Alec Bausch and a 3-pointer by freshman
Brady Rose staked the Titans to a 69-64 lead in OT, a lead that was never relinquished. The Titans made all six of their free throw tries in overtime, went 4 of 6 from the field and Overstreet scored eight of his team-high 18 points in the extra session.
Illinois Wesleyan held a commanding 40-28 rebounding lead on the Thunder and scored 34 points in the paint.
