BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan men's basketball team shot 61 percent from the field and made 10 3-pointers in the first half en route to a 93-60 win over Millikin at the Shirk Center on Wednesday, Jan. 14.
Senior
Jordan Nelson had seven 3-pointers, one shy of the school game record, and finished with a career best 28 points as the Titans improved to 11-4 overall and 3-1 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin. Millikin fell to 6-9 overall and 1-3 in the CCIW.
Nelson's previous high was 25 points against Augustana on Feb. 5, 2014. The 28 points is the most by a Titan in the 2014-15 season.
The Titans, who led 52-30 at halftime, cooled off in the second half, shooting only 50 percent (14 of 28), and finished at .554 for the game, their third best effort of the season. IWU outrebounded Millikin, 37-34, and committed 16 turnovers to 13 for the Big Blue. The Titans led for 38:35 in the contest.
