Box Score 2 BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan volleyball team topped Lake Forest in four sets before losing to the defending national champion Calvin in three sets on Saturday, Sept. 6 at the Barker Chevrolet Classic I at the Shirk Center.
IWU is 4-4 while No. 1 ranked Calvin improved to 8-0 and Lake Forest dipped to 1-5.
 "Calvin is a very strong team," said IWU head coach
Kim Nelson-Brown. "They are defending national champions for a reason. Our team competed the best when we were disciplined. Good teams will expose your weaknesses and Calvin did. Our players are determined to improve on those areas and hope to have another opportunity at them down the road."
Freshman
Kyleigh Block was named to the all-tournament team as she had seven kills and three blocks vs. Lake Forest and four kills vs. Calvin.
Senior
Maddie Greybar led the Titans against Lake Forest with 10 kills while senior
Kinzie Schweigert added nine and freshman
Maisy Bowden had eight kills and six blocks. Freshman
Nicole Bing led the way with 23 assists and sophomore
Colleen Rynne had 17. Sophomore
Loryn Bruer had a team-high 13 digs with Greybar adding six and Block and Bing each with five.
Against Calvin, Greybar again led the team with nine kills with Bowden adding six and sophomore
Emily Knowles with five.
Rynne had 16 assists and Bing added 10 while Bruer led with 12 defensive digs. Rynne had seven digs and Greybar provided six.
What's Next?The Titans travel for a match at the University of Chicago at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 9.
