Men's Soccer Comes Up Empty at Washington University

ST. LOUIS - Mo. - The Illinois Wesleyan men's soccer team was held scoreless in a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Washington University on Monday, Sept. 29. The loss drops the Titans to 6-6-0 overall while the host Bears, winners of four of their last five matches improve to 5-2-1. 

The Titans held a 13-12 shot advantage over the Bears for the game, but were not able to overcome a goal by Jack West in the 56th minute (55:37). John Pisani led the Titans with 3 shots while freshman J.J. Slomba recorded two shots. Defensively for Illinois Wesleyan, goalkeeper Mark Streid had three saves on thirteen shots by Washington University. 

What's Next?
Illinois Wesleyan will open up their 2014 CCIW campaign at Augustana at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 4. In their last meeting on the pitch (Oct. 12, 2013), the Titans were able to post a 3-0 victory over the Vikings.
