Skyler Tomko had a pair of goals as the No. 25-ranked Illinois Wesleyan women's soccer team shut out Transylvania, 5-0, at IWU's Neis Field on Saturday, Sept. 20.
The Titans improved to 6-2-0 while the Pioneers slipped to 2-5-0.
IWU opened the scoring just 13:07 into the game on a shot from close range by senior
Tess Bottorff with an assist to junior
Sydney Fox. IWU added a second goal at 22:08 when senior
Julie Govedarica scored with assists to Bottorff and senior
Emily Johnson.
Tomko got her first goal of the match at 22:59 and added her eighth of the season just 59 seconds into the second half on a cross from Govedarica.
Fox closed the scoring at the 54:42 mark, her sixth goal of the year.
The Titans outshot Transylvania, 39-1, with 18 shots on goal. IWU keeper
Dana Jourdan was not forced to make a save.
