Box Score PELLA, Iowa - The Illinois Wesleyan men's soccer team rebounded from last night's 2-0 defeat at Simpson college to pick up a 2-1 win over Central College on Saturday, Sept. 20. With the win, the Titans improve to 5-5-0 on the year while the host Dutch fall to 2-6-0.
After giving up an early goal 32 seconds into match, the Titans were able to hold Central without another shot on goal for the rest of the match.
IWU knotted up the score at one apiece in the 37th minute (36:22) off of
J.J. Slomba's goal from
Blake Beehler and then took the lead in the 81st minute (80:39) with an unassisted goal by
Collen Frost.
The Titans outshot the Dutch 11-7 including a 3-1 advantage in shots on goal.
What's Next?IWU will travel south to St. Louis, Mo. for a non-conference clash with Webster University at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 25.
