Box Score 2 BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan volleyball team dropped Monmouth in three sets after being handed a four-set loss to Aurora in play in the Barker Chevrolet Classic II at the Shirk Center on Friday, Sept. 19.
Aurora downed the Titans, 25-20, 25-22, 19-25, 25-18, in the afternoon match before Illinois Wesleyan beat the Scots, 25-23, 25-22, 25-17 in the evening session.
Illinois Wesleyan has a record of 5-7.
Against Aurora, sophomore
Emily Knowles led IWU with 10 kills and three blocks while freshman
Kyleigh Block had nine kills and five digs. Senior
Kinzie Schweigert added eight kills and freshman
Anne Cummings had seven.
Sophomore
Colleen Rynne had 22 assists and sophomore
Lizzy Hawk had 11. Junior
Mary Rankin led the Titans with 24 defensive digs and senior
Maddie Greybar had 10.
Block had 16 kills to lead Illinois Wesleyan in the win over Monmouth (5-10) with Greybar adding nine and Cummings with seven.
Hawk had 18 assists and Rynne had 16 while Rankin again led IWU with 11 defensive digs. Greybar had seven digs and Block had six.
What's Next?The Titans host Anderson University (Ind.) at 10 a.m. and Dominican University at 2 p.m. on day two of the Barker Chevrolet Classic II on Saturday, Sept. 20.
