Eric Gilbert scored his second goal of the match in the first overtime period to give the Illinois Wesleyan men's soccer team a 2-1 win at Benedictine University on Wednesday, Sept. 10, at the Village of Lisle/Benedictine University Sports Complex.

The Titans have won three straight matches, all by one goal, and are over .500 at 3-0-2 while the Eagles slipped to 1-3-1.

After a scoreless first half, Gilbert scored his first goal just 49 seconds into the second half and the Titans held onto the 1-0 lead until there were 48 seconds left in regulation when the Eagles' Anes Kadiric tied the issue at 1-1.

Gilbert's game-winning goal came at the 98:54 mark.

Erick Eklin made four saves as Illinois Wesleyan and Benedictine each had six shots on goal. Benedictine had 13 total shots and IWU had 12.
