Titans Lose 1-0 Women's Soccer Decision

GREENCASTLE, Ind. - Despite holding a 14-3 edge in shots and a 6-2 lead in shots on goal, the Illinois Wesleyan women's soccer team lost by a 1-0 score to Ohio Northern in the 2014 season opener at the DePauw Classic in Greencastle, Ind., on Friday, August 29.

The Titans (0-1) and the Polar Bears (1-0) were the first teams to play in the new Reavis Stadium in a game that started late due to a thunderstorm.

Sophomore Alison Seger had two shots on goal and four other IWU players had one each. Sophomore goalkeeper Dana Jourdan made one save and allowed the game's only goal in the 16th minute (15:05) by Missy Ward.

Illinois Wesleyan meets Birmingham Southern on Saturday, August 30, at 4 p.m. (Eastern time) in the second game at the DePauw Classic.
