Titans Shut Out in Home Season Finale

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Illinois Wesleyan got three hits - two doubles from senior Bobby Czarnowski and one from sophomore Matthew Mardis - in a 5-0 loss to No. 3-ranked Concordia Chicago in the home season finale at Horenberger Field on Monday, May 5.

Illinois Wesleyan slipped to 21-17 while the Cougars, the No. 2-ranked team in the region, improved to 33-5.

The Titans used nine pitchers and senior John Frueh (0-2) took the loss after surrendering two runs on two hits in his one inning of work.

What's Next?
No. 2-seeded Illinois Wesleyan (14-7 CCIW) opens play against No. 3-seed North Park (23-15, 13-8 CCIW) in the 2014 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin tournament at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 8, in Moline, Ill. The first game of the day, at 3:30 p.m., features No. 4-seed North Central (24-13, 12-9 CCIW) vs. No. 1-seed Augustana (28-10, 15-6 CCIW).
The tournament will continue Friday through Sunday.
